Society For Peace Studies Good Omen For Security In Edo State – Eselebor

The people of Edo state have been called upon to see the inauguration of the Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP), Edo state branch as a good omen that will further enhance sustainable peace, security and development in the state.

Dr. Willie A. Eselebor, national president of the organization made the call recently at the induction ceremony of new members and inauguration of the state chapter of the society in the state capital.

He expressed the organization’s desire to partner with Edo state government through the Ministry of Justice and the Judiciary for the purpose of establishing Multi-Door Court House for Edo state, strengthening capacity in third party mediation and provision of office accommodation for Edo state SPSP.

“SPSP is poised to assist Edo state government to proliferate the culture of alternative dispute resolution which will go a long way in dousing tension and unnecessary acrimony in the society…every potential peace loving citizens can access the organization for mutual good of all and sundry,” he assured.

In his own remark the State Chairman of SPSP, Bishop Lawrence Ehigiator thanked all those who made it possible for the society to be a practical reality in the state and passionately urged the good people of Edo state to continue to ensure the culture of peaceful coexistence and collective security.

Dignitaries at the historic ceremony included, a fellow of SPSP Prof. Eghosa Osaghae, Vice-Chancellor of Igbinedion University, Okada; Justice Esohe of the State High Court; Bishop Felix Airen Agho; Hon Josef Omoriotionmwan, Board Chairman of Edo State Broadcasting Service and Mr. Nathaniel Awuapila, National Secretary General of the organization.
