End To Fuel Crisis In Sight —DPR

The Department of Petroleum Resources, yesterday, said it was working round the clock to bring the fuel scarcity currently witnessed across the country is brought to an end, especially as the supply of the product is expected to improve in the next couple of days.

Fuel crisis This was even as some petrol dealers and marketers disclosed that the major problem confronting them at the moment was not in getting the product, but in managing and controlling the large crowd of motorists at the stations.

Speaking during a tour of petrol stations in Abuja, Director, Petroleum Resources, Mr. Mordecai Ladan, stated that already, Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, have started arriving the country’s ports, while lifting had commenced.

He said the Federal Government has ordered a large quantity of the products that would exceed the demand of Nigerians.

He said, “We are appealing to the public not to panic; these products are already arriving.

The liftings are going on from the coastal depot into the hinterland.

The problem is corruption because i dont think managing crowd at the filling station is much of a problem,only if the management can maintain orderlines.I have seen a situation. whereby the attendants gave preferential treatment to those involve in black market business leading to the accumulation of crowd in line waiting to be serve.When this happens,the possibilty of getting petrol is limited because they are being sold to black marketers.God help Nigeria
