The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Paul Arkwright, has disclosed to Cross River state government that his country, United Kingdom, would partner with the state government towards the successful establishment of the garment factory in the state.
The High Commissioner made the partnership known on Monday at Governor Ben Ayade’s office in Calabar, Cross River State’s capital.
Arkwright assured that the project would pave the way for skill development and emergence of entrepreneurs in the state and to a large extent creates thousands of jobs.
The diplomat who paid a facility visit to the garment factory together with Governor Ayade in company of the entourage of both parties to appreciate the level of work done spoke encouragingly on the project, particularly on the level of work done by the contractors, promised to bring in British expertise that would help to realize the goals of the project purposely for skill and vocational development which would in turn improve business opportunities in Cross River state.
Governor Ayade in appreciation of Arkwright’s commendations and promises expressed gratitude towards the partnership, which to him, would be a dream come true.
He added that the partnership between the two countries would translate into creating thousands of jobs for the unemployed youths in the state while projecting that the project would be commissioned in April this year.
