As part of the rites connected with the spiritual sanctification, fortification and empowerment of the Edaiken N` Uselu, His Royal Highness, Crown Prince Eheneden Erediauwa has visited the traditional monasteries of two Benin chiefs of historical importance, Osa and Osuan
BENIN CITY – Historic melodious songs rented the air as the Benin Crown Prince, HRH Eheneden Erediauwa visited the Uwen and Ora Shrines which are jointly referred to as EBO N’ DO at the palaces of the Osa of Benin Kingdom, Chief Johnson Usen and Chief Ambrose Osuan, the Osuan of Benin Kingdom.
This was in continuation of his traditional rites into the royal house of Uwebo.
The Crown Prince who commenced the journey from the palace was accompanised by members of Uwebo Palace Society, including the Oliha of Benin Kingdom, Chief Edionwe Oliha, Oloton of Benin Kingdom, Chief Iduriase Oloton as well as sons and daughters from within and outside the state.
In their separate chat with newsmen, the Osa of Benin Kingdom, Chief Johnson Usen and Osuan of Benin Kingdom, Chief Ambrose Osuan underscored the significance of the Crown Prince’s visit to the shrines.
Chief Osuan stated that the ceremony was in line with the traditional values and norms of the Benin Kingdom.
He asserted that in line with the cultural heritage in the land, it is imperative that, few weeks after the initiation of the Crown Prince into the Uwebo Society, there is need for the Crown Prince to proceeds into the Uwen and Ora Shrines to reach out to the deities, in accordance with the Bini Cultural Heritage, for peace and progress to reign in the kingdom.
The Osuan of Benin Kingdom declared that he feels elated to have played host to the Benin Crown Prince.
