Benin – No fewer than 20 foreign bikers are expected to participate in the second edition of the Edo Super Bike race scheduled for Saturday.
Odoagbon Okao, organiser of the race, who said this in Benin on Friday, told newsmen that the bikers, from Spain and Italy, were already in Benin City for the event.
Okao said that bikers from South Africa, Ireland, Britain and Togo were among those to participate in the race which was expected to cover about 100 kilometers.
He said that the race which would take place at Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo, would also feature about 100 local bikers.
“This event is aimed at promoting sports and tourism in the state and the country in general.
“From the look of things, this year’s race will be better in terms of organisation than what we had last year.
“Even though last year’s event was good, this year will be better considering the efforts we have put into it and arrays of stars from foreign countries that will be participating,’’ he said.
The race which will be flagged off at Urhonigbe, the home town of the Edo Deputy Gov. Pius Odubu, will take the bikers through Uromehe /Ugbogirima road.
