Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has commiserated with his Deputy, Dr. Pius Odubu on the death of his mother, Madam Imuegbeyoghor Odubu.
In a condolence letter to the Deputy Governor, Oshiomhole said: “Let me, from the depth of my heart, convey to you my personal condolence and that of the great people and government of Edo State, on the demise of your beloved and very affectionate mother, Madam Imuegbeyoghor Odubu which sad event took place on Wednesday, 23rd September, 2015 at the eventful age of 80.
“Your mother no doubt had a great influence in your upbringing and the totality of your humanity, your sense of loyalty to any cause and the generality of your admirable conduct. Given her own Spartan life and her deep sense of discipline, she was a role model to many throughout her trajectory in life’s bramble forest.
“I am pained at her exit from this plane of existence. I am touched that given her motherly closeness and affection to many people, she had to depart from us and join her ancestors at this time when we should have continued to enjoy her motherly wise counsel.
“As a Governor, I have been privileged to interact with her at different times and was quite enamoured by her sense of humour, conviviality and sharp memory. At 80, before her untimely death, she exuded a great feeling of a caring mother, bubbling with humility and rectitude; virtues that are reserved for the Lord’s chosen in our today world.
“Despite the fact that we are all going to miss her, we are consoled by the fact that she left behind accomplished children including your humble self who has been very supportive in our shared dreams and commitment to add value to governance and take Edo State to the next level.
“May the Almighty God, in His mercy and grace, grant her eternal rest in paradise. May the Good Lord also give you and the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. Adieu, Mama.”
