All Progressives Congress’s gubernatorial aspirant in Edo State and former Federal Minister of State for Works, Engr. Chris Osa Ogiemwonyi was honored by Edo National Association Worldwide (ENAW) at its recently concluded convention in Los Angeles, California, USA.
Ogiemwonyi, along with several other prominent Nigerians of Edo extraction was cited for his contribution to the ENAW Park project.
The award was conducted as part of the events marking the 24th annual convention of Edo people worldwide.
Ogiemwonyi received an award for membership of the exclusive ENAW 100 Club and support of the organization’s vision.
Also honored were some other Nigerians who have distinguished themselves in commitment to the support of Edo National Association’s initiatives.
They include, Engr. & Deaconess Greg Ogbeifun (whose award was given in absentia and received on their behalf by his sister, Mrs. Bose Oviasu) and Engr. J. E. Aghedo who were cited for their dedication and huge financial contributions to the success of the 2014 ENAW project execution in Edo State.
Retired Maj. General Charles Omoregie was recognized for his membership of the Exclusive ENAW 100 Club and financial support of the organization’s vision and projects in Edo State.
The following people and organizations received awards for their dedication and financial contributions to secure an ENAW International Recreational Park in Edo State, Nigeria: Mr.& Mrs. Ewaen Osagiede and Engr. & Mrs. Matthew Odigie.
Others were, Dynamic Club of Toronto, UNIC Club of Toronto, Bini Club of Houston, Edo Heritage Union of Mississippi, Prof. Dickson Idusuyi, Dr. Felix Agidigbi and Mr. Mike Ohenzuwa, chairman of the Park Project Committee.
Dr. & Prof. Mrs. Osahon, Mr. Joseph Osayemwenre Eguavoen and Mr. Ehis Enobakhare Ogbeide were recognized for their dedication and support to the success of the 2014 ENAW projects in Edo State.
Dedication and support to the success of ENAW medical mission in Edo State in 2014 did not go unrecognized.
Those who received awards in that category were: The Vice Chairman, Edo State Traditional Council, His Royal Highness (HRA) Aidenojie Ehidamen, The Onojie of Opoji; Pharmacist (Mr.) Ese Erhimwingbovo, Dr. Victor Ihama, Mrs. Mercy Grant-Obano, Mrs. Beauty Ihama, Dr. Bobby Idusuyi, Mr. Felix Idahosa and Mr. Austin Igbinosa.
Others included, Mr. Festus Idahosa-Erese, Mr. Friday Enoye, Mr. Bright Enabulele; Vice President of ENAW, Mrs. Katie Salami; ENAW Women leader, Mrs. Stella Ejedawe, Miss Beverly Ejedawe, Mrs. Eunice Akpotohwo and Mr. Sonny Okundolor.
In his appreciation speech to the recipients, ENAW National president, Elder Franklin Omoruna said his dream was to take the organization to a greater height.
According to him, he met an organization that was sick. “Sick because of internal strife that needed to be resolved.”
He said that he worked with his team to bring the organization out of the mess in which it was and placed it on the pedestal perpetual prosperity.
Elder Omoruna cited peace and harmony in the organization, the park project and medical mission as great examples of how ENAW has been transformed.
He thanked members of the organization and donor for their support in the endeavor and announced that by December 15, 2015 the park would be opened to the public.
Among those who witnessed the colorful event were the Onojie of Ekpoma, His Royal Highness (HRH), Anthony Ehizogie; Onojie of Ewu; the Onojie of Ugbegun.
Others included APC chairman in Edo State, Barrister Anselm Ojezua, chairman, Council of president, Edo National Association Worldwide, Barrister Dickson Iyawe and several presidents of the various groups that make up ENAW worldwide.
