Renowned film director, Mr. Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen has been awarded the Eghoba Global Presidential Award by the Eghosa Anglican Grammar School Old Boys Association.
The award was recently presented to him at the association’s 2015 4th annual convention in London in recognition of his distinguished contributions and devotion to the arts and movie industry.
At the award ceremony, Mr. Imasuen, director of an epic movie, invasion 1897 – depicting the horror unleashed on the ancient Benin Kingdom by the British Government in 1897 was also cited for helping to promote Edo Cultural Heritage Worldwide.
During the award presentation, the outgoing Secretary-General of the association, Mr. Osagie Igbinosun said to the recipient: “It is in recognition of your exemplary devotion in promoting Edo Cultural Heritage and your pledge to join in re-building Eghosa Anglican Grammar School.”
Other award recipients at the event were: Dr. Chris Adubor, recognized for the scholarships given to seventeen Eghosa students; Dr. Osahon Ukponmwan, for his outstanding leadership and the on-going planned projects; Prof. Eghosa Osaghae, for his exemplary leadership and academic achievement; Dr. (Col.) Charles Asowata, for his leadership and contributions; Mr. Victor Ogiemwonyi, for his unflinching support and generous contributions and Mr. George Etomi, for his excellent leadership qualities and humanitarian services.
Eghoba Global President, Mr. Ehigie Alile-Egbon congratulated the recipients for their awards and implored them and other members of the association worldwide to contribute immensely towards a concerted effort to re-build their alma mater.
He thanked Eghoba London chapter for hosting the association’s 2015 Convention.
