Chief Awolowo was the first ever politician to be made a leader of the Yorubas in contemporary history, as the ASIWAJU OMO OODUA. Today, however, giving his dazzling political exploits ASIWAJU AHMED BOLA TINUBU has stepped into the big shoes of Chief Obafemi Awolowo’’

In a few days from now, history will be made as Retired Major-General Muhammadu Buhari will be sworn in as the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Buhari, as from May 29, 2015 will be the fourth civilian President of Nigeria since civil rule was achieved on May 29, 1999, as he was even elected on the fourth month of this year in his fourth attempt and in this fourth republic.
And it must be noted that Buhari is a man of destiny and a perfect divine arrangement to lead the people of Nigeria at this point in time out of the gory spectacle of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) sixteen years rule.
Number sixteen seems to be a magic number for our country Nigeria. This is so because it was on January 16, 1966 that the then Senate President, Nwafor Orizu handed over power to General Thomas Aguiyi-Ironsi, after the failure of Major Kaduna Nzeogwu’s coup, a day earlier.
Also, when General Muhammadu Buhari led other copyists to sack the wayward Shehu Shagari’s government on December 31st 1983, the military did not vacate the political scene nor end their adventure until sixteen years later on May 29th 1999, when General Olusegun Obasanjo was sworn in as the President.
Now, it took another sixteen years of tragic civil misrule before the people of Nigeria decided to bring back General Muhammadu Buhari via the March 28th 2015 Presidential Election in Nigeria. So, who says the second coming of Buhari is not divinely ordained after all?
And in all of this spiritual arithmetic arrangement who says Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) has not been divinely positioned to help the people of Nigeria to knock off the PDP, and for the first time in the history of our country, in concert with other men of purpose install a progressive government at the center in Nigeria?
Minutes after the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) unanimously elected General Muhammadu Buhari as its Presidential candidate in 2011, he broke into tears and wept for the sorry state of Nigeria.
During the Presidential Election of 2011, he struggled gallantly to gather about 12 million votes to come behind Goodluck Jonathan in an election that was massively flawed in many quarters across the nation.
Knowing fully well that it cannot defeat the PDP in the 2015 Presidential Election, the CPC saw the absolute wisdom in joining forces with the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and others to prosecute the Presidential election
Beyond any shadow of doubt, the rallying and towering personality behind the great merger that led to the birth of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, who has vowed to fulfill the dream of the legendary former premier of the Western Region, Chief Obafemi Awolowo: that of a progressive party and government at the center in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Given his scintillating positive political and public credentials in Lagos State, where the PDP tried and failed woefully to snatch the state from the progressives since 1999, I felt personally as a public commentator/columnist that the APC with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu have achieved what would shake the political foundation of Nigeria like an earthquake.
Truly, on March 28th 2015 Presidential Election in Nigeria, the political foundation was indeed shattered with the PDP badly humiliated and knocked out of power after sixteen years of monumental misgovernance
By leading a gargantuan political crusade that was able to uproot a sitting President in Goodluck Jonathan, and in the process helped indefatigably to create a progressive government at the Federal level in Nigeria, Tinubu is right in the shoes of Obafemi Awolowo.
Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, though has his shortcoming as a human being, has won for himself a deserving political crown and enviable shoes left behind by Chief Obafemi Awolowo. This is my view and sentiments aside, he is walking in the shoes of Obafemi Awolowo.
No wonder the media campaign team of Goodluck Jonathan Presidential Campaign Organization went to the level of frenzy and lunacy, all in the name of hitting him below the belt, for the purpose of discrediting him before the voting public weeks to the 2015 Presidential Election in Nigeria!
