Edo National Association Worldwide (ENAW) has commended Nigeria’s new Inspector General of Police, Barrister Solomon Arase for his resolve to improve intelligence gathering, policing and maintenance of law and order in Nigeria.
In a congratulatory message to the Edo-born new police chief during the week, signed by its president and secretary, Elder Franklin Omoruna and Prince Victor Ehue respectively, the organization cited his recent action of dispatching a team of anti-crime unit to Benin City, Edo State, to deal with the increased deadly cultists’ activities in the heartbeat of the nation.
“Since his appointment as the Inspector General of Police, Barrister Arase, has begun work to improve intelligence gathering, policing and maintaining law and order in Nigeria.
“He recently dispatched a team of anti-crime unit to Benin City, Edo State, to deal with the increased cultist
activities.
“We at Edo National Association Worldwide are very proud to call Barrister Arase a true Nigerian, our son and brother and we wish him greater successes in his new position,” the message said.
Edo National Association Worldwide acknowledged Barrister Arase’s academic and professional achievements, which include: “a master in strategic planning, a graduate of many universities and
prestigious law enforcement institutions, including University of Ibadan, (MSS); Nigeria Defense College,
FDC, Abuja; Lagos State University, (LL.M); Nigeria Law School Abuja, (BL); University of Benin, (LL.B); and A.B.U., Zaria, (Political Science).”
Barrister Arase’s appointment as the new police chief in Nigeria was recently confirmed by outgoing president Goodluck Jonathan.
Until his recent appointment, he was the head of Nigeria’s Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (CID).
