BENIN—THE Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin, UNIBEN, Prof. Osasere Orumwense, yesterday reeled out his five years strategic plans for the university, announcing that his administration would ensure the payment of staff salaries on the 19th of every month.
Declaring this at the UNIBEN Strategic Plan Forum, which coincided with his one hundred days in office, the vice chancellor, who commended the immediate past VC, Prof.Osayuki Oshodin, for laying a solid foundation which would be improved upon, also said his administration would focus on the development of Information Communication Technology in the university and increased funding to complete existing structures and embark on new ones.
Also, chairman of the Strategc Planning Committee, Prof. L. Ojogwu and the Deputy VC Administration, Prof. Lawrence Ezemonye, expressed the determination of the new administration to improve the IGR of the university and ensure that lecture halls and hostels were improved to the same standard as other universities in Europe and America.
Declaring the Forum open, Prof.Orumwense said the strategic Plan Forum would provide all relevant stakeholders the opportunity to know the actions that will shape and guide his team’s developmental plans for the university in the next five years.
He said: “As you are aware, several administrations in the past have done great things to ensure steady growth of the university.
‘’My administration is ready to build on the achievements of my predecessors to ensure that this university maintains its position in global ranking.”(Vanguard)
