Buhari, while speaking at a rally of the APC in Benin City, Edo State Capital on Thursday attributed Nigerians’ suffering today to what he called 16 years of PDP’s misrule in Nigeria.

“16 years of PDP misrule is what every household is suffering from today. APC’s intention which has been very well articulated in its manifesto and will be modified from time to time is to tackle the monumental problems we have which is recognized throughout the country and elsewhere.”

“First one is insecurity. There is nothing we can do without security. So our priority is to secure this country. Secondly is the issue of unemployment.

The youth of this country are more than 60% of our population and whether they are in school or not, they are not employed and this is dangerous for the nation.

And of course, there is the problem of corruption which is responsible for so much wastage of resources which could have been properly utilized especially for education. There is nothing you can give a people better than qualitative education”.

Continuing, he said: “APC government by the will of God and Nigerians from May 30, this year will make sure we remove insecurity from North East to Badagry, from Sokoto to Cross River and from Zaria to Port Harcourt.

General Buhari emphasized faming and promotion of entrepreneurship as a veritable vehicle to ensuring employment in the country.

His words: “The quickest way we can give jobs to everybody is to make sure we empower farmers by giving them fertilizers, inputs and advice and extension farming and also to try and get the finance houses to give soft loans to our traders and small manufacturers so that they can fortify their businesses, employ people and produce goods and services.”

In addition, he promised, his administration will improve schools, invest in equipment, employ qualified teachers and make sure Nigerians get qualitative education that would help them secure their future and make the country a better place.

He also promised to fight other problems, such as erosion, adding for example, that the amount of resources required to control erosion in Edo State alone is enormous not to talk of the South Eastern States. “The APC government will do that,” he assured.

“We are going to make sure we rehabilitate the infrastructure. When PDP came into power, Power produced was about 3000kw to 4000kw, today after PDP government have expended about $20 billion, we are producing less than that.

Because of all this incapacity, there is no way Nigeria can diversify so before they kill us, we better vote out the PDP”, he requested.

The Ex-Nigeria’s Military Head of State expressed hope that the supporters and party faithful have all gotten their permanent voters cards, advising them to come out en masse on election day to ensure PDP is voted out of power.

In his remarks, Governor Adams Oshiomhole said, “Edo is an example of the story of Nigeria. 6 years ago, after 10 years of PDP misrule, this state was like an abandoned misused vehicle.

Our people were told the state was a civil service state, that we are not a major oil producing state and that it was not anybody’s fault and even the votes never counted.

Our people told me that in this state, only one man counts and indeed he was in charge. I brought the message of hope along with few of my colleagues who were convinced that anything that is evil in the sight of God and in the sight of decent men and women cannot stand for ever but it can stand only to the extent that the people give up hope.”

“I told them that the votes can count and the votes will count and that we can intimidate the godfathers and banish them from the land. Once we liquidated their rigging machines, they now look like over cooked vegetables and as we speak, they are on political oxygen provided by external forces outside the state.”

Oshiomhole declared, “The way Edo has changed, that is how Nigeria will change when General Muhammadu Buhari becomes the President of the Federal Republic.

There is something different about this year’s election. It is a choice between those who can do it and those who have shown they can’t do it.”

In his remarks, the National leader of the party, Chief Ahmed Bola Tinubu said the party was very proud of Governor Adams Oshiomhole’s achievements in Edo State.

Hear him: “You have heard about the great man and the great mind which we have brought to you, General Muhammadu Buhari and Professor Yemi Osinbanjo, men of distinction and great responsibility.

You have seen the last 6 years during which Adams Oshiomhole took over governance of the state. Have you not seen change?

Have you not seen critical and radical development? Are you not seeing change in the school, infrastructure, Healthcare? Here is a promise made and a promise fulfilled by a progressive- minded government.”

He called on all Edo people to support and vote for General Buhari and Professor Osinbanjo as they have been endorsed by Adams Oshiomhole as candidates whose administration would bring positive change to Nigeria.

“Will you follow them or not? It is about time that you replaced darkness with light. The only way is for you to embark on common sense revolution and what is that common sense revolution? When you vote APC, you have started the revolution.”

He accused the Jonathan’s administration of failure, saying “There are no more excuses in their cupboard. Over 50 million youths unemployed.

Are you ready to continue with that government? University education has become 7-8 years to complete instead of four years.

All the time they give excuses. They cannot even contain insurgency. Boko Haram is even in their government. If you know that, why not take them out of government.”

“Six years of Jonathan, there is no single refinery that is producing crude oil in this country. We promise you that refineries will be our priority and Edo State will enjoy one of them out of three.

That is where job is created. Nigeria is good enough and rich enough to be the industrial center of the continent of Africa,” he said.
