Bostonians, representing different racial and ethnic backgrounds recently joined United States-based businesswoman, Mrs. Dala Girolamo and family to celebrate her birthday in a fun and excitement-packed ceremony at Spinellis in Peabody, Massachusetts.
Mrs. Girolamo, who is the President of Dependable Healthcare, Incorporated paid glowing tribute to her husband and children for their supports, saying that they gave a her a lot of strength.
The occasion was a source of gossip in town before it took place. Those who were not invited felt left out. It was not one of those events of a free-for-all.
Not only was it strictly by invitation, but also came with clear instructions: Men must dress in suits with ties to match, and the ladies, evening dresses with a show of elegance.
No one wanted to incur the wrath of the chief celebrant. And so, the scramble to buy suits and dresses began for those who did not have them and those who needed new ones for a change.
Also, late coming would not be tolerated. This aspect was unequivocally very challenging to the African/Nigerian guests who are not used to arriving at and starting events on schedule.
Believe it or not, all the instructions were carried out.
People came on time. All the guests in the reception hall looked great in their suits and dresses and there was no doubt that they themselves knew it as the exuding of confidence was very much in evidence.
An emotion-wrapped chief celebrant, Mrs. Girolamo gave a lot of praises to God for giving her life and success in her endeavors.
She actually has a lot for which she should be thankful to God – great husband and children, good health and a successful business.
Her four children represent to her a great source of pride as she celebrates her birthday: Jennifer Dew, 23 graduated from the University of New England, Maine in 2013 with Bachelors of Arts and Science in Medical Biology.
Stephanie Dew, 22 is doing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Utica College, New York.
Claire Dew, 20 is a third-year Mass communications Major at Franklin Pierce University, New Hampshire while the last born, Lizzy Dew, 16 is in her third year at Masconomet High School in Boxford Massachusetts.
They were all on hand to celebrate with mom, whom they love so much and for whom they poured a lot of encomiums, describing her as a very caring loving and compassionate mother.
The occasion, full of fun and excitements was attended by dignitaries from various parts of the world, including Nigeria.
